Joseph Cunningham was born and raised in Havertown, PA. He began playing Gaelic Football in his father’s hometown of Ardara, Co. Donegal during his summer visits there growing up. At 17 Joseph then started to play for Donegal Philly, continuing the legacy of his uncle, Liam McGroarty, who played for the club and his father, Eamon Cunningham, who was both a founding member and player of the club. As a player Joseph has won multiple Philadelphia Junior Championships and was also a part of the Junior team who won the USGAA North American Championship in 2018. In the coming years Joseph hopes to become a more constant performer for the Senior team. Off the field Joseph enjoys working in IT, giving back to the community and visiting his family in Donegal whenever he can.
